THE SET-UP

During the summer, while vacationing in Maine, Tony dropped into a curio store and bought an imitation road sign that said“Deer Crossing”. It had an image of a leaping deer on it.It was made of plastic and was about 2/3 scale. He had no idea what he was going to do with it, until he got home.

Tony came up with the idea of taking it to Six Pack, and using it to play a practical joke on Dom…the same Dom who brags that his tree stand is placed in the best location in the woods around camp to see deer. This, obviously, is an arguable point.

In the weeks ahead, Tony mounted the sign very professionally on a piece of PT 2 x 2. He fashioned a smaller rectangular sign which read, “Property Of The Fish & Game Commission. Do Not Remove.”, and mounted it on the post beneath the triangular deer crossing sign.Then, he sleeved a 4’ piece of chain with a piece of old garden hose. 

Realizing that simply sticking the sign, unannounced, in the Everglades mud in front of Dom’s tree stand wouldn't really accomplish anything, Tony had to give the sign some purpose…a purpose Dom would believe was meaningful.
